VIP HOST: SHEBA AZZAN

Sheba is a valuable member of the dragon boat family and is a key leader of our on site Volunteer Services Team. Sheba is always ready to greet volunteers with a smile and support them with her positive and friendly guidance and encouragement. We recently sat down with Sheba to discuss a few of her favourite things and what she loves about the festival.

What is your role at the festival?

VIP Lounge Host

How long have you been involved?

Since 2018

What is your most memorable moment from the festival?

There are so many incredibly memorable moments from both the Ice and Summer Festivals, I can’t just choose one, and getting to share these wonderful memories with the best people in the world makes it even better! I’m proud to say that I have made lifelong friends because of this festival and that’s the best thing I could have ever hoped for.

What do you do for fun when not at the event?

I love being outdoors and exploring nature, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and playing with my two sweet kittens Jasmine and Rosie!

What might someone be surprised to know about you?

I used to live in Los Angeles and was a child model/actor and I also like to sing.

What’s your top priority of the summer?

Having as much fun as possible while enjoying the great outdoors with my loved ones.

Vacation destination?

Bali, Greece, Costa Rica, and Thailand. I want them all!!!

Ottawa or Hawaii? Well, there is truly no place like home as Dorothy once said, but I’m off to Hawaiiiiiiiiiii
Lake or Ocean? Ocean but I adore both!!

What is your favourite:

Sport? I like soccer, but I’m not that athletic to be honest, but hey I tried.
Concert? Jennifer Lopez all day every day
Movie? Bridesmaids

In closing, what would you tell someone who is thinking about volunteering with the festival?

I would say, go for it because it has been one of the most rewarding experiences. You meet great friends, get active, and have the most amazing time all while getting involved with your community!

Because anyone who has done a festival with these people knows what an amazing experience it is and like nothing you've ever done before. A whirlwind of emotions from happy, excited,. It bonds you.
