BREAST CANCER / ALL CANCER PADDLERS FLOWER CEREMONY

Join us as we celebrate the participants in the Breast Cancer and All Cancer Paddlers divisions!

Busting Out Ottawa Dragon Boat Club began in 1998 with a group of Breast Cancer survivors who wanted to experience the joy and the benefits of Dragon Boating. Since then Ottawa's only breast cancer survivor team has served as an outlet for providing and promoting health and wellness through physical activity and demonstrating that there is quality of life beyond their diagnosis.

Great Big C is Ottawa’s first ever men’s cancer survivor dragon boat team. All paddlers have previously been diagnosed with or are currently fighting a form of cancer including but not limited to prostate, testicular, lung, colorectal, myeloma and esophageal. Their current roster ranges in age from 50s to 80s. The goal of the team is to have fun on the water, bond as a crew and help raise awareness of cancer and men’s health.
