Unspeakably Fantastic Summer Sessions

Tuesday, July 26, 2016

Some people attend the festival to watch the races but an increasing number come to enjoy the wide variety of free entertainment presented by the festival. This year we teamed up with Current Sessions Productions to bring you unspeakably fantastic acoustic backstage performances by some of our favourite artists.

Loon Choir
Our first Summer Session comes from the ever talented Loon Choir. This nine piece band hails from the Nations Capital and graciously took the time to form a musical circle and give an intimate performance of their song "Centre of Gravity".

Pony Girl
Ottawa based Pony Girl performed a beautiful acoustic version of "Theo" at #‎ODBF. If you have the opportunity to see Pony Girl live we highly recommend it.

Lionyls
Another fun lil' session comes to us from The Lionyls with their fine acoustic cover of Bill Withers "Just the Two of Us". The Lionyls are one of Ottawa's favourite local bands and from the video it's clear to us why.

Modern Space
See if you recognize this one from listening to Live 88.5. The incredibly talented Modern Space perform an acoustic version of their single "Pen to Paper." in a boat down by the river. Life is good sometimes.

muscadettes
Well the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival is done and this video from The Muscadettes concludes the 5 sessions filmed over our 4 day festival. This Montreal-based band are lead by twin sisters (singer and bassist). We were lucky enough to capture an acoustic performance of their current song "I'm In Love".
