Breaking News: The Sheepdogs will headline a free concert June 20 at the Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival

Monday, February 03, 2014

Organizers of North America’s largest dragon boat festival have confirmed that The Sheepdogs will headline a free concert on Friday, June 20. Also on the bill are roots rockers Cuff The Duke and indie folk band Harlan Pepper.

The Sheepdogs rose to fame with their 2010 album, Learn & Burn, and won an international competition in 2011, decided by 1.5 million votes, making them the first unsigned band to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone. The band has gone on to win three 2012 JUNO Awards: New Group of the Year, Single of the Year and Rock Album of the Year.

Located at beautiful Mooney’s Bay Park, the four-day event begins on Thursday, June 19, and runs to Sunday, June 22. The festival offers free admission to concerts, as well as a variety of artisans, exhibitors, delicious culinary treats, beachside bar, children’s area and non-stop racing.
