FANTASTIC FESTIVAL FOOD VENDORS

This year is full of fantastic festival foods featuring everything from smoked meats to cool treats. The festival has everything covered to satisfy your sweet tooth and give you the meat sweats. It's not often that food trucks from around the city gather in one place, so be sure to visit the festival from June 22nd to the 25th!

BEAVERTAILS

The beaver has been Canada’s national symbol for hundreds of years. Settlers lived off their tails, which as everyone knows, are made of dough and when deep fried and covered in delicious toppings were an excellent source of energy to keep them warm in the unforgiving Canadian wilderness. OK, 90% of that was lies, but this Canadian staple which mixes fried dough, sugar and an insane variety of toppings has made these tasty treats famous around the country. Perfect as a portable snack, Beavertails will be offering a variety of different flavors, from chocolate and hazelnut and each and everyone will undoubtedly please!

BIG LEMON HANDCRAFTED LEMONADE

They say, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade”! OK, who are we kidding… the lemons will sit in the back of the fridge never reaching their full lemony potential! But you know who is making killer lemonade? Big Lemon Handcrafted Lemonade! And they will be pouring the most refreshing Freshly Squeezed Hand-Crafted Lemonade you’ve had the chance to pucker up to this year at the Festival! Sylvain & Brad, the owners and founders of Ottawa’s Mr. Sundae are excited to bring their local, freshly squeezed lemonade to the Festival this year! No need to be a sourpuss because easy peasy lemon squeezy, your day will be refreshing and breezy!

GOLDEN FRIES

Golden Fries specializes in food that makes you feel good. Mainly, poutine and grilled cheese with a twist. Pictured here is the Lobster Poutine, but they also offer Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese, Balsamic Bruschetta Grilled Cheese and a huge variety of other specialty poutines. Who doesn’t LOOOVE French fries! No one! The humble potato elevated to legendary status by just cutting and deep-frying? There’s something just so satisfying about devouring those snappy, salty, sizzling sticks of deep-fried heaven! But surely you agree that all fries are not equal. Who, in their right mind, wants to eat a soggy, bland fry? NO ONE! And you don’t have to settle because Golden Fries is here to make all your French fry dreams come true! Whether you want the classic fries and ketchup combo or crave the richness of a perfect poutine, Golden Fries has got you covered! Don’t believe me? They were voted Ottawa's Best Poutine 2021 & 2022 and Ottawa's Best Food Truck 2020-2022! They also offer Vegan, Vegetarian, and Gluten, nut and dairy free options and their food is organic and locally sourced! Golden Fries is the perfect, portable festival food!

MR. SUNDAE

Did you know that ice cream can be beneficial for you? It contains B12, B6, D, C and E, and is an excellent source of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates! And there’s no better way to beat the Festival heat than with a frozen treat from Mr. Sundae! Sylvain & Brad, the owners and founders of Mr. Sundae, have been serving incredible and unique chilly delights since 2014 and you can experience them all for yourself this year at the festival! Choose from the richest of soft serve ice creams covered in Belgian milk chocolate dip, fruity and refreshing Hawaiian shaved ice or their mouth-watering chocolate covered cheesecake! Don’t worry if you can’t decide. Just get one of everything…you’ll be sure you stay cool in the summer heat! Mr. Sundae is also committed to the environment by offering paper straws and cups and using as many biodegradable PLA plastic products as possible.

 

SCRUMPTIOUS BBQ CHICKEN DIVINE

Longtime festival vendor Scrumptious BBQ Chicken Divine specialize in greek wraps - "the most Divine wraps you've ever had" with ingredients freshly prepared onsite. Includes sauteed onions, bell peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, chicken/beef/lamb, or vegetarian with feta topped with our signature tzatziki sauce. All made to order. Can also be served in a bowl. Side of wedge potatoes with tzatzkiki sauce or poutine, regular or divine (with chicken onions, lettuce, and a dab of tzatzkiki sauce), made from wedge potatoes.

WALKING TACOS

It’s “Nacho” business, I don’t wanna “Taco” about it, just “Guac” away… with a walking taco from the Walking Tacos at the Festival! Like a Frito Pie (a pile of Fritos with beef chili and toppings), walking tacos are a family-friendly festival food you’re sure to love! They’re portable little “tacos” mixed with crunchy chips instead of a taco shell. Not only are they a tasty and convenient festival food, but they’re also fun too! And Walking Tacos serves up delicious tacos with a variety of options. Soft shell tacos, taco salad, and a unique taco in a bag. All options come with your choice of ground beef, ground chicken, vegetarian, or vegan. They also have poutine tacos, a festival fan favorite! And just try and walk away without trying their delicious churros tossed in cinnamon sugar and drizzled with chocolate. Walking Tacos have been in business for 5 years and love coming to the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival serving hungry paddlers!

SPRING CHIPS

Potatoes may have been the first vegetable grown in space, but you don’t have to go to space to enjoy Spring Chips’ potatoes with a twist! Started in the heart of Ottawa’s Byward Market, and made with local Canadian potatoes, Spring Chips delights customers with their out of this world fried to a twist snack. Available with a choice of unique seasonings, Spring Chips are a fun and wacky way to enjoy the classic potato and are sure to enhance your festival culinary experience!

AKAI BOWL

Looking for a creamy and refreshing snack packed with antioxidants and other nutrients? Then look no further than Akai Bowl who will be serving up delicious bowls and smoothies featuring the Brazilian superfruit AÇAÍ. Tasting like a cross between blackberry and chocolate, this dark purple fruit is a staple in the diet of the native populations of the Amazon region. TROPIC LOVE

What says summer more than drinking a smoothie from a fruit shell! Visit Tropic Love’s tiki-hut for a fresh fruit smoothie that will transport you from Mooney’s Bay to a tropical island getaway. Whether you choose pineapple, watermelon, or coconut, Tropic Love is a natural choice for a delicious and nutritious festival treat!
