It stands to reason that a festival featuring furious paddling would turn into a celebration of sea to shining sea. The 22nd annual Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival unveiled a star-studded lineup Monday, plucking its headliners from the head of the class of Canadian rock -- from Newfoundland's Hey Rosetta! to Vancouver's Dan Mangan. Geographical signposts along the way include Yukon Blonde, Rural Alberta Advantage and Tokyo Police Club. For artistic director Antony Cooper -- who, since 2011 has booked the entertainment portion of North America's largest dragon boat event -- putting together this year's lineup was like checking off a wish list.
