Beth Walsh's PHOTO BLOG: Dragon Boat Teams Training on the Water

The 20th annual Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival is this weekend. Since its inception in 1993, thousands of participants have gathered at Mooney’s Bay Park on Riverside Drive in Ottawa to race. Admission to the festival is free to spectators. In 1998 the “Pledge Challenge” was added to help with fundraising for local charities. In the evenings leading up to the festival the teams can be seen training at Mooney’s Bay.

I used my 70 – 300mm to capture the teams in their dragon boats. Except for the first 2 pics the boats were very far from where I was standing on shore. My D600 is full frame so the pics are very large and I was able to crop them.
