Ottawa Business Journal: From corn cups to carbon offsets

With a sponsorship agreement in place with waste management firm BFI Canada to collect cans, bottles and plastic containers, the Dragon Boat festival has joined other Ottawa festivals with their own recycling systems and is one of a growing number of environmental initiatives introduced by local organizers.

"Attendees would like to see more and more recycling and greening," said Ottawa Festivals executive director Barbara Stacey. "(From) festivalgoers, there's a lot of feedback. In a general sense we are all about that as a society these days. There is more of a push for that."
