BATL Axe's mission is to show people the power of being good to each other, using the axe as a tool to build community inspired by our backyard roots.

Typical BATL events include birthdays, bachelor/ bachelorette parties, corporate team building, fundraising and similar functions, and are led by experienced axe throwing coaches to make sure you have a great time while learning how to throw with the proper technique.

Their leagues are tightly knit communities of great people who love to hang out and throw axes for 3 hours each week. With no experience necessary, you’ll compete individually and receive pointers from coaches.

BATL was founded at the home of CEO Matt Wilson in 2006. What started as a personal passion sparked by a summer camping trip soon spread through word of mouth in Toronto, and today hundreds of thousands of people have experienced the thrill of throwing axes at one of BATL’s nine locations.  In the past 10 years BATL has been covered extensively by local, regional and national press; growing from our original backyard roots to today operating nine locations across Canada, including Calgary, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Niagara Falls, Ottawa, Pickering and Toronto.

As the sport of axe throwing has grown, BATL has also played a lead role as a founding member of the National Axe Throwing Federation (NATF), together with other of the most premier urban axe throwing organizations worldwide since its inception in 2016.
